Why stand in line when you can just put your vote in the mail? It already happens in part of America and it works just as well as voting with a machine. So, let's make a statement about purpose and process and just decide for the nation - vote by mail is here, says the federal government and not every state-by-state. Your vote is counted by election day, so there's a result then because your vote is mailed or it's delivered to a ballot box by election day. Simple enough.
